Early 19th Century Refinish

When I initially saw this chest of drawers, I almost walked away from purchasing it.

All I could think of was the work involved in refinishing it, but there was so much unique detail that it had to be remarkable. It also still had the original key that worked!!

Since I make custom pieces, I noticed the handcrafted dovetail construction and the original pencil measurement marks. However, I couldn’t just refinish this…I had to know the history…where did this come from?!?

In some cases, a date is imprinted to verify a piece’s age, but this had nothing!

So after several hours of Googling and reaching out to the Antique Dealers, I learned it's a handcrafted 1915 German Pine chest of drawers.

Ya’ll…It’s 107 years old‼️

Just imagine how many stories this thing needs to get off of its “Chest”🤣! By far this is my favorite and easiest project. Now that it's been revived, I hope it can live to tell more stories for another 100 years.
